In Guerlain’s latest creation for its L’Art & La Matière collection, the storied French maison sets a trail deep into the jungle at dawn, into a moment suspended between night and day, when the earth exhales the scent of life itself. Its newest olfactory opus, Vétiver Fauve is an homage to the untamed, primal beauty of nature, channelled through the lens of fine perfumery.
Mused by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, in-house perfumer Delphine Jelk reimagines one of Guerlain’s most iconic raw materials: vetiver. Here, it’s far from the familiar smoky, masculine interpretation of the house’s 1959 Vétiver. Instead, Jelk tames the wild root without stripping it of its power, layering it with a verdant tropical accord that evokes dew-drenched leaves, moist earth, and the sensory symphony of a jungle coming alive. The composition opens with an almost tactile freshness—fig accord and sun-drenched pineapple add lush roundness, while a delicate play of tonka bean and cypriol lends warmth and depth. The result is an enveloping, unisex, woody-fresh scent that encapsulates the shifting, sporadic nature of a tropical jungle.
Housed in the collection’s signature octagonal flacon, now tinged in a luminous jungle green, the fragrance highlights the botanical tones of the tropics—tinted with a bright and captivating green, further enhanced by the radiance of the glass and its fine ridges.
Vétiver Fauve comes in three sizes—50ml (RM1,300), 100ml (RM1,800), and 200ml (RM2,580)—and is available for purchase exclusively at the Guerlain Ultimate Boutique store at The Exchange TRX. A new silver-toned hammered plate, reminiscent of fresh dew beading on jungle leaves, accompanies this creation and is available for personalised engraving. Guests may also customise their bottle with artisanal cords, transforming it into a truly personal olfactory statement.
