Louis Vuitton’s new high jewellery collection, Virtuosity, honours the process behind creation, celebrating craft and creativity as distinct forces. The collection reveals 110 one-of-a-kind pieces divided into two acts: The World of Mastery and The World of Creativity. Where the former focuses on perfecting a honed skill, the latter ventures into the uncharted.

In The World of Mastery, technical skill and craftsmanship are spotlighted. This act presents seven themes, opening with Savoir—which features an entrancing necklace with a triangle-cut 30.56-carat Australian black opal that required 1,500 hours of work. The triangle is a nod to the ancient triangle of knowledge, which has also been represented in the Maison’s other designs, such as the angular corners of its iconic trunks. As captivating as an aurora, the opal flickers between hues of red and green, tracing down to an equally striking 28.01-carat emerald drop. This set is completed with a pair of earrings, a ring, and a bracelet.

The first act of the collection rounds out with Connection, a set that opens the door to the second act, The World of Creativity. Two thousand hours of work were dedicated to creating a stunning necklace that consists of 2,000 paved diamonds, more than 100 closed-set diamonds, 114 pearls, and a magnificent red 6.04-carat pigeon-blood ruby. These gemstones are linked together by the House code rope motif, and are inspired by the hardware used on Louis Vuitton’s travel goods, acting as a symbol of transmission.

Entering the second act of Virtuosity, The World of Creativity is displayed through five themes that challenge the boundaries of imagination. Among them, Aura serves as a clear reflection of the second act, centred on the signature LV Monogram Flower. As an icon in and of itself, the flower appears as an enduring symbol of tradition, though this set is crafted to defy convention. Adorned with a total of 48.06 carats of blush tone tourmalines and a 2.54-carat LV Monogram Flower-cut diamond, Aura features a beautiful necklace that can easily transform into three modes of expression, available in yellow and white gold. It also comes with a watch and a belt that doubles as a brooch—a first for Louis Vuitton and a playful quirk that adds to the collection.

Across the 12 themes, each set possesses its own unique character that will remain timeless in heritage, yet daring in design, showcasing the true meaning behind the name of the collection: Virtuosity.
