In our weekly TWIL series, we bring you the latest in luxury news from around the world. This week’s highlights: the new lightweight and fluorescent Santos De Cartier watches, great ways to celebrate Halloween and Deepavali, and more.
Cartier Introduces New Santos De Cartier Timepieces

The two new watches seamlessly adopt the ultra-lightness of titanium and the phosphorescent Super-LumiNova, introducing aesthetic and technical choices that reinforce the emblematic Santos de Cartier design. The titanium watch boasts a lighter and sturdier frame, with the black spinel of the winding crown and the anthracite of the fully bead-blasted matte-finish material bringing out the depth of its colour. For the large all-steel model, the watch showcases a sporty theme with its black dial and railway track motif. The watch hands are coated in a fluorescent Super-LumiNova green, further enhanced by the dial’s finishes and by the heptagonal crown set with a faceted blue synthetic spinel and a satin-finished case.
Minotti Welcomes A New Addition To Its Sofa Collection
Coupé, which is designed by Italian architect Giampiero Tagliaferri, reflects the designer’s affinity for vintage pieces, often blending the old with the new to produce something entirely fresh. For Coupé, Tagliaferri draws inspiration from the Italian post-war period, with its organic silhouette and ergonomic sinuosity. As an architect, his fascination with the way a Brazilian seed perfectly interlocks with its fruit resulted in the overlapping rounded volumes that give this sofa its unique character. A closer inspection will also reveal precious couture-inspired details, displayed in the tone-on-tone longitudinal stitching and careful incorporation of buttons on its backrest. The Coupé sofa is upholstered in suede or leather, though the designer finds that the suede, in particular, lends a sensual dimension to the design.
Johnnie Walker Partners With Fashion Designer Rahul Mishra For A Limited-Edition Blue Label

In honour of the festive season and to celebrate traditions and reunions, the world’s number one Scotch whisky brand has collaborated with the first Indian fashion designer to show at Paris Couture Week. Mishra’s packaging and bottle designs are a loving homage to the vibrant cultures, traditions, and craftsmanship of India. These limited-edition artworks feature a joyous burst of festive colours, symbolising abundance and bountiful beginnings. Mishra was inspired by native flora and fauna—or, in his words, “blooming flowers and spirited animals”.
“Johnnie Walker Blue Label has been a symbol of luxury and celebration for decades—not only in India but across the world—and learning more about the time and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle has been a wonderful journey,” Mishra said in a statement. “Slowing the process of craft and creating a sustainable eco-system for artisans is something close to my heart, so sharing my philosophy with a brand with centuries of heritage and a lineage of craftspeople has been very special.”
Only 300 units of this limited-edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label are available in Malaysia; each is priced at RM1,136.

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary
Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur‘s milestone was marked with a ‘Culinary Journey’ that took guests and partners across four of the hotel’s dining eateries, each highlighting the culinary heritage behind the hotel. Starting off the tour was a stop at Zipangu, an authentic Japanese restaurant where the crafts of Japanese Head Chef Kazuo Takizawa were served in a serene, Zen atmosphere. This was followed by a tasting at Shang Palace, where Chef Keith Yap demonstrated his artistry in Cantonese dining. Double-boiled seafood broth, along with scallion and ginger Sabah Coral Trout were served to guests, showcasing the elegance of Cantonese tradition with responsibly-sourced ingredients. The night then continued at Arthur’s Bar & Grill, where Executive Chef Scott Brands served Arthur’s signature indulgence, the 28-Day Dry-Aged Grilled Prime Rib; before the final stop at Lemon Garden, where guests were treated to a panoply of citrus-themed desserts and local delicacies.
