Land Meets Sea: The Wallywhy150 And Rolls-Royce Spectre

The Epitome of Luxury by Pen Marine showcased the Wally wallywhy150 for its Malaysian debut, and hand-crafted fragrances from Henry Jacques.

Across three days at Penang’s seafront retail marina, Straits Quay, a select circle of Robb Report Malaysia readers were invited to immerse themselves in experiences that truly embodied The Epitome of Luxury. The space also serves as the headquarters of Pen Marine, the official and sole yacht brokerage in Malaysia for both Wally and the Ferretti Group. During the event, guests were treated to an exclusive viewing of the unveiling of the wallywhy150—a futuristic ‘spaceship’ on water that made its Malaysian debut.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre features laser-welded pillarless coach doors.

At the Central Atrium, guests enjoyed rare access to the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan and the Spectrespecimens of the pinnacle of automobile excellenceas the British luxury automobile maker has its sole dealership in Selangor.

Eston Tan’s Our Island

Upstairs, art patrons were treated to an exclusive preview of Our Island, Eston Tan’s upcoming solo exhibition presented by All About Art Gallery. Set to take place in Singapore from 30 August to 28 September 2025, the showcase marks the 25th anniversary of his distinguished career. It is a reflection of a deeply personal journey—an inner voyage shaped by both solitude and companionship of the full-time painter who was born in Penang and is now based in Taiwan.

Liquid Libations from AsiaEuro Wines & Spirits

While admiring the pieces, guests savoured expressions of eight-, 12-, and 15-year-old whiskies from The GlenAllachie, the Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery known for carefully crafted and cask-perfected gems. AsiaEuro Wines & Spirits also presented a curated selection of fine wines and spirits available for purchase, including the prestigious Tesseron Lot N°29 XO Exception Cognac. Often considered the jewel of the maison’s collection, the rare cognac is crafted from a blend of Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie aged for over three generations.

Caviar Giaveri produces high-quality caviar by breeding prized sturgeon specimens.

To complement the Italian-made vessel, exquisite pearls from Caviar Giaveri—Italy’s esteemed luxury caviar house—including the Persian Osietra, White Sturgeon Deluxe, and Beluga Siberian, were served. Accompaniments such as a mushroom tart featuring portobello, button, and shiitake also elevated the experience.

Attendees then indulged in the Aladino Cameroon Gordo and Cohiba Robustos Tubos—courtesy of Cohiba Atmosphere Kuala Lumpur—while reclining on sumptuous leather sofas by Royale Chesterfield and enjoying the sea breeze as they sipped on bottles of Acqua Panna. The Churchill, Ashfield, and Queen Mary wing chairs, each impeccably upholstered fully in genuine leather, were presented by Malaysia’s largest maker of Chesterfield sofas. For those with a taste for finely crafted fishing instruments, electric reels such as the Banax Kaigen 1000 and St. Croix Rods were showcased courtesy of TCE Tackles, Malaysia’s largest supplier of fishing tackle and outdoor adventure products.

MST Golf

Adding excitement to the festivities was an indoor driving range presented by MST Golf, Southeast Asia’s premier one-stop golf destination. Guests had the opportunity to try out the Majesty Royale set, with each club being a masterful blend of elite Japanese manufacturing and cutting-edge golf engineering.

Henry Jacques’ Haute Perfumerie Experience

Aboard the yacht, guests were treated to a luxurious haute parfumerie experience, courtesy of Henry Jacques, known for its bespoke, handcrafted fragrances. The sensory journey unfolded with the discovery of Collection de l’Atelier 2024, infused with the HJ Rose de Mai absolute—an essence derived from the maison’s very first rose harvest. Perfumers were on hand to guide guests through the process of selecting a fragrance from the Les Classiques de HJ collection, celebrated for their intensely concentrated oils, where just one or two drops are enough to express one’s personal olfactory signature.

A guest, Chrissy Hampden-Smith, commented, “This is my second time at a Robb Report Malaysia event. It’s very well organised, well presented, and impressive on the whole. I have friends in Brazil with impressive yachts, and this one looks like something straight out of a James Bond film. Given the price point, it offers tremendous value.”

Cruising in Style

The wallywhy150’s split-level saloon.

The Ferretti Group is a world leader in the design, construction, and sale of luxury yachts and pleasure vessels and, amongst its portfolio, few names evoke as much admiration as Wally. Known for its avant-garde yachts that combine cutting-edge design and sailing heritage, the wallywhy150 is no exception. Having previously made waves at the world’s largest boat show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the first Asia-Pacific edition of the vessel made its highly anticipated Malaysian debut here during the event days. Visitors walking along the marina at Straits Quay were awestruck by the 23.99m creation, with its angular, glass-wrapped superstructure. This not only acts as a design statement; it floods the interior with natural light and panoramic sea views, resulting in a sense of limitless space.

Guests saw, touched, and experienced the revolutionary space and volumes of the wallywhy150 first-hand. The saloon offers a soaring ceiling height of over 2.5m—an exceptional feature for a yacht measuring less 24 metres, and one that’s virtually unheard of even on 70m yachts. The interior, masterfully brought to life by Studio Vallicelli Design, offers an extraordinary split-level saloon that leads straight out onto the aft beach and features floor-to-ceiling glass that dominates the design of the vessel. The curved fore-and-aft at the deckhead additionally creates a dome-like effect, a hallmark of Wally’s design that adds visual drama to its distinctive look.

A Closer Look at the wallywhy150

It packs many of the same punches as its predecessor, the wallywhy200, which debuted in 2021, but in a more streamlined form. At the hull, which includes a dining space that comfortably seats eight, attendees took in the sweeping 270-degree panoramic view of the Andaman Sea through the trademark wallywhy wraparound bow windows.

Made for socialising, up top is a vast saloon en plein air, which runs nearly the entire length of the yacht, that does triple duty as a sundeck, chill lounge, and party space. If it rains, an angular hardtop extends seamlessly from the stealth-style glass raised pilothouse. For those seeking an extended stay at sea, there are options for either a VIP, guest double and guest twin cabins, or two VIP cabins. Owners can make space in their calendars for extended cruising with an upgraded option of three Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350 (1,000mhp or 735kW) engines, which give the yacht a top speed of 23 knots, a cruising speed of 20 knots, and a 1,000nm range at 10 knots.

Driven by Distinction

The Rolls-Royce Spectre.

An option for discerning clients to transition from sea to land is the Rolls-Royce Spectre, whose design is fittingly inspired by racing yachts. It marks several firsts for the brand, most importantly the arrival of the first fully-electric Rolls-Royce motor car ever made. The Spectre also marks the dawn of a new automotive class, which merges exceptional craftsmanship, sustainable technology, and high performance—the ultra-luxury electric super coupé. With a fully electric drivetrain powered by dual SSM motors delivering 584hp and 900Nm of torque, the Rolls-Royce Spectre accelerates to 100km/h from a standstill in just 4.4 seconds. Offering a WLTP range of 530km, it seamlessly aligns with refined practicality required of Rolls-Royce clients.

Event guests admired its ‘Decentralised Intelligence’ system, which makes it the most connected Rolls-Royce in history, with three times as many sender-receiver signals as any previous model. This allows the car to act intuitively and elegantly, including improved responsiveness to driver inputs and changing road conditions, seamless coordination, and enhanced personalisation.

Car aficionados also pressed a button to open the laser-welded pillarless coach doors in its signature theatrical movement to admire its magnificent interiors. At almost 1.5m in length and made from 100 per cent aluminium to reduce weight, the doors are the largest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce.

A Super Coupé of Sculptural Elegance

Despite its electrification, Rolls-Royce still prioritises its luxurious experience. No compromise was made in terms of its interior space or ride quality, but instead, refining its signature Rolls-Royce style and offering an infinite number of Bespoke possibilities. Guests marvelled at the Starlight Doors, which glittered with 4,796 softly illuminated ‘stars’, the first on a series production by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The experience of stepping on a ‘magic carpet ride’ to explore an ethereal night sky continues with the Illuminated Fascia, where more than 5,500 stars turn the dashboard into a cosmic sanctuary.

Naturally, the showpiece moment that acted as a crowd pleaser for those gathered around the vehicle was the reveal of the Spirit of Ecstasy, the brand’s signature bonnet ornament.  Eleanor (as it is affectionately known) rose gracefully in her redesigned, more aerodynamic form, the first time in 111 years since she became an official part of Rolls-Royce. Directly below the iconic mascot is the Spectre’s Pantheon grille, the widest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce, with 22 LEDs softly illuminating its sandblasted rear surface.

The Cullinan Black Badge

Flanking the Spectre was the Cullinan Black Badge, where car aficionados also pressed a button to open the doors in its signature theatrical movement to admire its magnificent interiors. Its striking turquoise hue marked a first for Malaysia, while guests sank into seats paired with plush lambswool mats—evoking the sensation of flying first class.
