Highlights From This Year’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo At Sepang International Circuit

Thunderous action, exquisite timepieces, and a glimpse of what’s next for Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse recently hosted the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia at Sepang International Circuit, where fans were treated to a mix of high-speed rivalries among the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2. This one-make championship started the season at the Sydney Motorsport Park earlier this year, followed by the Shanghai International Circuit, Fuji Speedway, and Inje Speedium, before arriving in Malaysia, where Robb Report Malaysia was invited to join the VIP track experience across the weekend.

At the VIP hospitality lounge, guests indulged in gourmet Italian cuisine while the drivers hit the track for qualifying. Located above the pit lane garages, the lounge offered guests clear sightlines to the race, coupled with the la dolce vita lifestyle that has always been an integral experience of the Italian marque. The Lamborghini Temerario—which just debuted in Malaysia in July this year—was also on display, offering fans an exclusive opportunity to explore its craftsmanship up close and discover the exciting future of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

“The Temerario Super Trofeo will start to race in 2027. That will be the year that the Huracán will switch to the Temerario,” said Francesco Scardaoni, Regional Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific. Although the Lamborghini Temerario is a plug-in hybrid supercar, Scardaoni clarified that the Temerario Super Trofeo will remain running on internal combustion engines to reduce the risks for drivers.

Supercars, however, weren’t the only luxuries guests got to engage with during the event. As a time-honoured partner of Lamborghini, Roger Dubuis showcased some of its unique novelties that were presented at Watches and Wonders 2025, along with collaborative masterpieces inspired by the marque’s creations. Highlights included Roger Dubuis’ newest Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph in pink gold, the Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph in the iconic Lamborghini Verde Mantis shade, and the Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar to mark the watchmaker’s 30th anniversary. Guests were also invited to a fascinating savoir-faire experience to get a glimpse of the meticulous artistry applied to each timepiece.

The weekend’s thrills began long before the engines roared to life, as Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia’s Davide de Gobbi led an exclusive garage tour, lifting the curtain on the world of sprint racing. While guests took in the growl of the engines, Gobbi broke down the finer points of race-craft—from the responsiveness of the machines to tyre pressure, as well as the multi-buttoned steering wheel that serves as the car’s nerve centre.

No race would be complete without the quintessential grid walk. Beneath the midday sun, guests stood just steps away from the cars as mechanics swarmed over while drivers settled into their cockpits. Electric and tense, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Once the race was underway, Robb Report Malaysia experienced the action up close from trackside, chauffeured around the circuit as cars thundered past at breakneck speed.

Finally, the chequered flag waved. Celebrations erupted on the podium as Feynlab Racing’s Chris van de Drift and Todd Kingsford claimed third, SJM Theodore Racing’s Charles Leong and Alex Denning took second, and standing tall at the top, Leipert Motorsport’s Ethan Brown. Amid the cheers and champagne, the weekend celebrated everything motorsports stands for—speed, sound, and spectacle.
