An Insightful Breakfast With The Route 77 KL Chapter Of The Harley Owners’ Group

Ahead of its drive to Penang, the fleet was treated to a Malaysian breakfast at Gamuda Gardens, along with a fireside chat with Novartis on prostate cancer.

On any other morning, a visit to the picturesque Gamuda Gardens is a study in serenity—mist lifting off manicured lawns, joggers tracing quiet paths, and the gentle rhythm of a township easing into the day. But, on a recent Sunday, tranquillity made way for thunder. The stillness was pierced by the unmistakable growl of Harley-Davidsons rolling in formation, accompanied by the power chords of 1980s rock as well as an atmosphere charged with unapologetic, punk-leaning bravado.

The impressive fleet—which featured stalwarts such as the Ultra Limited, the Sportster, and the Road Glide—came courtesy of the Route 77 Kuala Lumpur Chapter of the Harley Owners’ Group Malaysia. The riders had been invited to a breakfast gathering in the polished private lounge at Gamuda Gardens Esteem, where gleaming chrome met glass, steel, and the sort of discreet luxury that lends itself well to early-morning camaraderie.

Inside, guests refuelled with a classic Malaysian breakfast spread, setting the stage for a fireside chat hosted by Novartis. The pharmaceutical company brought together clinical oncologist Dr Ahmad Radzi and comedian Douglas Lim, who served as moderator, for an engaging conversation on prostate cancer awareness—an issue too often overlooked until it becomes dangerously advanced.

Dr Radzi underscored the persistent challenge of late diagnoses, noting how the absence of early symptoms and limited public awareness frequently led to delayed treatment and diminished outcomes. “This is where the dual approach, using Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) imaging and Radioligand Therapy (RLT), comes in, enabling earlier detection, precise treatment, fewer side effects, and an overall improvement in quality of life,” he explained, outlining how cutting-edge oncology is reshaping the landscape of men’s health.

The session closed on a celebratory note, with riders raising toasts, posing for photographs, and sharing reflections on the cause. Moments later, engines ignited once more as the convoy set off for Penang—its departure doubling as a symbolic salute to men’s wellness, and a reminder that advocacy can take many forms, even those clad in leather and roaring down the open road.
