Tuxedos were on full display, sequinned evening gowns swept dramatically across the entrance of GSC Aurum Theatre, and more than a few diamonds glittered beneath the spotlights as VIP guests arrived for Chopard Malaysia’s private screening of No Time to Die. Premiering an impressive two weeks before its official Malaysian release date on 25 November, this was a tantalising opportunity for Chopard’s guests to watch the 25th James Bond film in style.
Once all invitees completed an antigen test with a negative result, they proceeded to the cinema’s Jin Gastrobar, which had been transformed into the Chopard x 007 Soirée venue for the evening. While waiting for the screening to begin, guests sipped glasses of Bollinger’s Special Cuvée champagne, poured from a limited edition 007 bottle, nibbling canapés and discussing which actor – if any – could ever be capable of replacing Daniel Craig as the next Bond.
When the hotly anticipated time came for No Time to Die to begin, two halls – both containing plush, ultra-comfortable Getha Lux Suites – swiftly filled with guests, who settled down with popcorn and champagne near at hand. The scene-stealing star was undisputedly actress Ana de Armas in her role as the bubbly, Martini-downing Cuban CIA agent Paloma, who sported three haute joaillerie models from Chopard’s Green Carpet Collection during her appearance in the film.
Dressed to kill in a figure-skimming gown, Paloma wore a magnificent Chopard trio crafted entirely from sustainably mined materials, including ethical Fairmined-certified gold and diamonds from suppliers endorsed by the Responsible Jewellery Council. On her wrist was a stunning bracelet composed of an 82-carat cascade of pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, and her necklace was set with pear-shaped diamonds totalling 43 carats. Her 14-carat pear-shaped diamond earrings, meanwhile, were the final touch that set Paloma alight.
As Bond 25 concluded and guests polished off the last of their popcorn, they were thrilled to find that Chopard had gifted them a Funko Pop! vinyl figure of Paloma and her diamonds. It was, one might say, a delightful substitute for taking the real Paloma (or Ana de Armas) and her haute joaillerie collection home.
