The Macallan Collaborates With Design Legend David Carson To Reimagine Its Timeless Collections

The Macallan, renowned for its extraordinary single malt Scotch whiskies, has enlisted Carson to reimagine its Double Cask and Sherry Oak collection with a refreshed, modern perspective. The graphic designer and typographer is known for his groundbreaking contributions to graphic design in the 1990s, primarily through grunge typography. Taking design cues from The Macallan Distillery and its sweeping green roof, Carson reimagined the bottle’s design as a nod to its craftsmanship. Other details include a new shoulder label, rear label designs, and enhanced consumer engagement through a unique QR code. “Like whisky, design is all about balance,” Carson said in a statement. “With The Macallan, I wanted to create a visual identity that respects its rich history and encapsulates its forward-thinking spirit. Each detail, from the label designs to the bottle’s form, is a tribute to the mastery behind every dram.”
