McLaren Owner’s Community Malaysia Hosts Thrilling Supercar Night Track At Sepang International Circuit

On an exhilarating Monday evening, the North Paddock of the Sepang International Circuit came alive with a supercar night track event hosted by McLaren Owner’s Community Malaysia—supported by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Tumi, Champagne Carbon, Jack Daniel’s, OnePlus and Technogym. The adrenaline-pumping automotive race featured an impressive line-up of supercar owners, including the McLaren 765LT, 765LT Spider, Senna, Artura, 750S, and 720S; Automobili Lamborghini Aventador S, Aventador SVJ, Huracán, and Huracán Performante; Porsche Cayman 718 and 911 GT3 RS; as well as the Ferrari F8 Tributo.

Leading up to the race, eager drivers flocked to the paddock in the early evening for registration. A dedicated counter at the entrance allowed participants to scan a QR code for a chance to enter a lucky draw and win exclusive prices. These included hotel stays, coupons and membership programmes by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, travel essentials from the Tumi McLaren Collection, bottles of Champagne Carbon and Jack Daniel’s, and OnePlus 12R mobile phones. MOCM members were issued with their own team attire and a Technogym wellness pass, while non-members were given caps and tags.

Inside the paddock, a booth set up by local alcohol importer and distributor LamboCellar displayed some of Champagne Carbon’s signatures—the Bugatti Bolide Vintage Edition 2017, Bugatti EB.02 Chiron 300+, and the F1 Orange Vintage 2008—as well as red wines from Chateau Durfort Viviens, Chateau Pichon Baron, and Chateau Gazin. While waiting for the main event, partakers explored these libations and caught up with longtime friends. The excitement surged as MOCM committee member Mark Chew led a detailed briefing session on the track map, circuit details, required driving gear, overtaking rules, and safety precautions.

After installing transponders into the drivers’ cars, an opening parade on the track was arranged in three rows. A short break followed, during which drivers enjoyed a dinner buffet to recharge before heading to the pits to prepare for the official race. The two-hour race showcased supercars at full throttle, with strident engine roars as drivers battled for the top position. As the cool-down lap signalled the end of the race, drivers evaluated their time records.

Back in the paddock, winners were announced across various categories. The biggest winner of the night was Stewart Hine, the vice-president of McLaren Owners Club Singapore, who took home a two-night stay in The Lanesborough London suite, an all-access tour of the McLaren Technology Centre, a RM500 food and beverage voucher for Chynna at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, and a Hilton Honors Fast Track to Gold Tier membership programme. As the night drew to a close, the racing spectacle proved to be a resounding success, blending high-octane racing with shared enthusiasm and camaraderie within the supercar community.
