THE COMYNS ROSE BOWL
What was once old is new again. Every few years, the revered silversmith Comyns ferrets around in its extensive archives to identify a creation to be revived, and now is the turn of the Rose Bowl collection.
Inspired by Art Nouveau design, the new Rose Bowl collection is crafted using the art of chasing. Typically reserved for large, extravagant pieces, Comyns has taking one of the oldest silver smithing techniques in existence to a small level, used to fashion the ornate motifs of the set. The body of the bowls is handspun in silver, topped with the eye-catching lid. Here, hand-chasing and repoussé skills are used to craft an elaborate ramble of roses and leaves, floating uncannily above an embellishment of 24K gold. In a word: timeless.
