A celebratory atmosphere descended onto the Tuah 1895 precinct of the Bukit Bintang City Centre recently as the screeching V10s and symphonic screams of V12 Lamborghinis heralded the arrival of Lamborghini Club Malaysia (LCM) members. Among the array of mechanical bulls were the Huracán family of Sterratos, STOs, Performantes and Tecnica, the Urus SUVs and a sleek black Revuelto V12 with striking geometric livery.

In total, over 120 members, including partners and invited guests, converged at As.I.Am by Chef Ton, the modern Thai fine dining restaurant launched earlier this year by celebrity chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn, who is also exec chef and owner of two Michelin-starred restaurants in Bangkok, namely Le Du and Nusara.

The event began in earnest with a welcome address from LCM president Andy Cheeng, who welcomed all members to what was the first event following the conclusion of the club’s annual general meeting in which new office bearers were elected to the committee. This was then followed by a presentation of four units of haemodialysis machines which were funded by the generosity of LCM members to the following parties: Eagles Dialysis Centre, Waz Lian Haemodialysis Centre, Lam Wah Ee Hospital and the Toh Puan Zurina Foundation Haemodialysis Centre.

The night then went into full swing with cocktails and single-malt tastings by Mortlach paired to a menu comprising some of As.I.Am by Chef Ton’s and its sister restaurant R&D specialities such as Miyazaki A5 beef skewers, Southern Thai Chicken Golae, Golden Corn Somtum and Chef Whan’s Golden Chicken Wings.

Adding razzmatazz to the evening was DJ Mia, one of the country’s top DJ names who rocked the crowd with her high-energy riffs and recognisable throwbacks. The evening culminated in an impromptu breakout dancing before calling it a night, with plenty of memories of the inaugural LCM members’ night that was.
