TWIL: Lamborghini’s New High-Performance Urus, Grand Seiko Updates Its Core Collection, And More

Catch up on this week’s most noteworthy updates from the universe of luxury.

By Robb Report Editorial | July 17, 2026

In our weekly TWIL series, we bring you the latest in luxury news from around the world. This week’s highlights: Lamborghini reclaims the title of fastest SUV with the Urus SE Performante, Grand Seiko rolls out improvements and high-end calibres across the Evolution 9 range, and Louis Vuitton debuts ceramic versions of the Monterey watch at its fashion show.

The Lamborghini Urus SE Performante Is The Fastest-Ever SUV

Lamborghini took its second step forward into electrification with the Urus SE in 2024, introducing plug-in hybrid technology to the marque’s SUV line. Now, the Italian automaker infuses the SE with even more of that classic Lamborghini audacity with the Urus SE Performante. Combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric motor, the Urus SE Performante delivers 801bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque—the highest combined system output in the model’s history. The result is staggering: 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 10.8 seconds, and a top speed of 312 km/h, cementing its status as the world’s fastest super SUV. A new dual-chamber air suspension finds sharply reduced body roll during aggressive cornering, as well as a significant reduction in vibrations for a more comfortable ride.

Visually, the Urus SE Performante adopts a more aggressive interpretation of Lamborghini’s “bold sportiness” philosophy. Sharper lines, exposed carbon-fibre elements, a sculpted bonnet with integrated air ducts, larger intakes, and the largest diffuser ever fitted to an Urus give the electrified flagship a presence that is every bit as dramatic as its credentials.

Grand Seiko Updates Its Core Flagship Evolution 9 Timepieces

These nine new watches from Grand Seiko are not unfamiliar, following the template of the Evolution 9 collection that has defined the brand’s modern-day styling since 2020. Iconic dial textures inspired by Japanese nature—trees, lakes, and rivers—are also well-known. But across these references is a suite of minor refreshments and upgrades: a new, more tapered bracelet with tool-free micro-adjustment; cases made either in Grand Seiko’s proprietary blends of stainless steel or titanium; and, most importantly, rollouts of newer, better movements. The five Spring Drive references are equipped with Calibre 9RB2, Grand Seiko’s U.F.A. (Ultra Fine Accuracy) movement that was introduced last year and boasts an accuracy of +/- 20 seconds per year. The remaining four are equipped with the high-beat Calibre 9SA5, which sports Grand Seiko’s revolutionary Dual Impulse Escapement that debuted in 2020.

Louis Vuitton Debuts Two New Monterey Watches In Ceramic

Louis Vuitton continues to establish its presence in haute horlogerie with the unveiling of two new Louis Vuitton Monterey timepieces with ceramic cases during its 2027 Men’s Spring/Summer fashion show. Based on the house’s first-ever wristwatches, the LV I and LV II, which launched in 1988, the Monterey was first seen last year in yellow gold. The two new references were presented as charm tags rather than on the wrist, and offer a choice of green or glossy black ceramic for its distinctive pebble-shaped case. Powered by the in-house automatic LFTMA01.02 movement, this new ceramic timepiece collection will be available starting September 26.

An extension of an initiative that began last year, this collection elevates the idea of complete transparency—from mine to final piece—to the high jewellery level.
