Ludwig Oechslin’s watchmaking genius finds its ethos in simplicity. In other words, that the most complex problems should be solved in the most direct manner. Over two decades have passed since his innovation of Ulysse Nardin’s first perpetual calendar timepiece in 1996, honoured here with a recreation in the form of the Classic Perpetual Ludwig (RM88,200).
Forward and backward date adjustment is allowed via the single crown as in the original. On the dial, one finds the big date in a double window alongside month and year. The day display features within the small seconds subdial of this automatic vintage-style piece, wrapped in a 41mm steel case.
