ArteSpree Throws a Glitzy Ball to Celebrate Art, Fashion and Music

Artespree honours malaysian artists

ArteSpree, the online platform where Malaysia’s art community gathers, celebrated its first anniversary with an Art Ball at Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur recently.

Founded by Mi-Ki Choong of Centurise Group who is also the Global Ambassador representing Malaysia in Women Entrepreneurship Day in the United Nations was present at the grand event, splendidly themed ‘Avant-Garde — Past, Present & Future’.

It was a night that celebrated all things artistic — bringing together some of the best in the fields of culinary, performance, fashion and fine art. The evening started with an art exhibition that featured pieces from seven countries. The discussion about art continued when guests were led to the Grand Ballroom for a specially curated dinner by Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur’s head chef.

The night also saw performances by singer Azfareffa who sang opera ballads by Mozart and Vivaldi, thereby transporting diners to the artistic era of sixteenth century Europe. Guests were returned to the present with a visually stunning contemporary dance performance. The highlight of the night was a one-night-only fashion show presented by ArteSpree and Carven Ong, Malaysia’s very own celebrity designer. Ong who recently won fame from the success of Crazy Rich Asians, showcased ten specially designed avant-garde pieces to the guests’ delight.

Also taking place that night was the ArteSpree Art Awards 2018, that honoured artists whose works have contributed to the industry. The evening ended with the announcement of the Best Dressed people of the night who all left with jewellery, securely clutched, by the award-winning Paolo Costagli New York.
