The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur’s Christmas Celebrations Come In Three Flavours

The jolliest season of the year draws close and The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur marks the Christmas season with three celebrations. On Christmas Eve, a lavish four-course dinner (RM300 per person, RM450 per person with wine pairing) will be served 7pm to 11pm. Crafted by YTL’s Executive Chef Wai, traditional and vegetarian menus are available.

Expect the works for both menus, with the traditional menu featuring highlights such as chicory wood-smoked ocean trout with pickled cornichon, boiled potatoes, hanukah honey and dill dressing, as well as glazed muscovy duck with tempranillo cherries, raddhicho leaves and Santa Maria plum marmalade. For the main course, the carving trolley brings the best of both worlds – a selection of roasted turkey and wagyu striploin with buttered brussels sports, caramelised carrots, fine Kenya beans and herb potatoes. The meal ends with a traditional Christmas pudding, served with warm anglaise, berries and a bourbon whisky sauce.

Vegetarians can also expect gastronomical wonders the likes of sautéed Swiss brown mushrooms with arugula tossed with hazelnut and macadamia dressing and spiced heirloom tomato soup with crumbled fried artisan cheese. A salt-baked celeriac, served with crème fraîche and brunoise mirepoix, acts as the main course, while a soya milk and palm sugar pudding with a tropical fruit medley ends the meal on a sweet note.

Robb Report readers will also receive a complimentary postprandial Ritzy Digestif Hour featuring cognac and Armagnac for every party of four persons booked when making a booking on Open Table and quote “Robb Report x Chef Wai” when making your booking.

Next, the hotel’s famed afternoon tea (RM80 per person) receives a festive twist from now until the end of the year. Traditional year-end desserts and delectable favourites – chocolate Yule log, English fruit cake, Christmas pudding, mixed berry Breton, gingerbread Santa, Scotch eggs and baked cranberry scones – come with each three-tiered set. Available daily from 2:30pm to 6:00pm, kick up your heels with your choice of Ronnefeldt tea with live musical accompaniment from the resident quartet.

Come Christmas Day, The Cobalt Room hosts a festive brunch (RM99 per child, RM198 per person, and RM398 with unlimited Prosecco). Expect roast turkey with the works, a selection of classic festive favourites, and a visit from Santa Claus.
