The Inaugural Lamborghini Community Malaysia Drive Took Participants Along The New West-Coast Expressway And A Private Island Resort

On a December weekend, with vacation vibes setting in, participants of the inaugural Lamborghini Community Malaysia (LCM) drive pulled into the newly installed Skyline Luge at Gamuda Gardens in Rawang. Spotted among the many mechanical beauties were Performantes, Gallardos, Aventadors with the LP700, SV, SVJ and Ultimate variants, Huracan Tecnica and STO, and the unmissable Urus. Following refreshments by Illy Coffee, the fleet headed to its first stop, the seafood paradise of Tanjung Tualang where participants feasted on the succulent big-head river prawns that have earned the town its culinary renown.

Before long, the fleet of bulls would roar towards Marina Island, the jetty where they would embark on the second leg of their getaway. A quartet of speedboats would then transfer the group of 45 participants to the idyllic island paradise of Pangkor Laut Resort. Upon debarkation, participants were welcomed by LCM-badged flags fluttering in the sea breeze as well as ice-cold refreshments.

At Marina Island, the participants swapped Lamborghinis for speedboats to head over to the private island of Pangkor Laut Resort.

As the sun started to sink into the horizon, they congregated at Fisherman’s Cove, the resort’s fine-dining establishment and enjoyed a round of prosecco with spectacular sunset views. As the live band came on, so did an array of food inspired by one of the resort’s most famous guests—the late and great tenor Luciano Pavarotti. To start was the Insalata Luciano salad topped with Pangkor Island-smoked mackerel and paired with a crisp Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Next was the Pavarotti Pasta, a moreish concoction of penne, tuna ragu and shaved pecorino that originated from his own recipe book. For mains, a choice of grain-fed beef medallion or blackened sea bass was paired with Hennessy X.O cognac for delicious long finishes.

The next day, participants were then regaled with a styling session by Azlie of YTL Retail who showcased luxury Italian casual sportswear Paul & Shark and its versatility as resort fashion. Lunch ensued with a host of fresh seafood and ice-cold Italian beers, as did an educational trip to the island’s nature centre with conservation director Justin Juhun, who introduced the guests to a rescued sea turtle.

Pangkor Laut Resort’s most beautiful strip of beach called Emerald Bay would then provide the location for breathtaking sunset shots as participants used Oppo’s latest Find N3 to capture spectacular photos from that evening. Dinner offered yet another culinary adventure, with the newly introduced Pangkor Pasar Malam nights showcasing all manner of street food and delicacies in one space—from Malay heritage dishes, murtabak, char koay teow and curry noodles to fruit rojak and lots more. The night would wrap up most satisfyingly with drinks by the Royal Bay Beach Club and a birthday celebration for December-born members of the group.
