Sounding Suite
Once you drive part W Retreat Bali’s entrance, racing down a kilometre’s worth of smooth rock-paved path and jade-hued canopy shrubs, you step into a different world to the one you had just left in downtown Seminyak. Here, you discover an endless buzz at the pool and by the bar, propagated by an international crowd comprising Australian and American surfers, South American beachcombers along with the types of crowds that pepper the A to B guests lists at the hottest clubs around the world.
To answer the needs of these party-ready people, W Retreat Bali recently unveiled its staggeringly cool and the world’s first W Sound Suite , conceived as a fully equipped recording studio, pop up bar, meeting and event space. The space spans 50 square metres, and will certainly appeal to those with inner rock star predilections. It is composed of (pun unintended) a lounge, a live room and a main mixing room featuring the latest professional sound equipment any hot shot music producer, recording artist or label mogul would be happy schmoozing in. An adjacent outdoor garden area that looks into the The W Sound Suite is a versatile space with a capacity for 100 people.
The W Sound Suite also caters to serious audiophiles who are not hotel guests. Individual studio sessions are offered in blocks of an hour, four hours and eight hours under the supervision of resort’s music curator Damian Saint who made his name headlining parties from Amsterdam to Tokyo, and now commands the decks at W Retreat Bali’s super slick Woobar.
