A Celebration of Craft with The Macallan and Lladró
Robb Report Malaysia brings together two masters of their crafts for a showcase of high craftsmanship and savoir-faire.
Enclaved within The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur’s Astor Bar is the exclusive The Macallan M Room, Malaysia’s first and only experiential whisky bar. Within this intimate setting, Robb Report Malaysia brought together two stalwarts of craftsmanship—The Macallan and Lladró—for an evening celebrating artistry, heritage, and the pursuit of excellence.
Guests were welcomed with a selection of Macallan cocktails, including the Old Fashioned and Whisky Sour, accompanied by canapés curated by Astor Bar. The evening’s centrepiece was a live demonstration by Lladró artist and flora creator Silvia Pérez Nebot, who offered insight into the intricate decorative and hand-painting techniques behind one of the house’s most iconic creations, The Spanish Horse. The presentation provided a rare glimpse into the meticulous processes that underpin Lladró’s sculptural legacy, where each piece is shaped, refined, and finished by hand.
Complementing this display of artistry was a guided tasting of The Macallan’s renowned single malts, including The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old. Matured with meticulous attention to cask selection and ageing, the whisky showcased the depth, complexity, and consistency that have become hallmarks of the Speyside distillery.

Though operating in different worlds—one in fine porcelain, the other in single malt whisky—Lladró and The Macallan share a common philosophy rooted in craftsmanship and expertise. Both houses have spent decades refining their respective disciplines, balancing tradition with innovation, while preserving techniques that demand patience, precision, and an uncompromising attention to detail. Whether through the careful hand-decoration of porcelain or the mastery of whisky maturation, each creation reflects a commitment to quality that transcends trends and generations.
Set against an atmosphere of understated luxury, the event underscored the shared values that unite these two distinguished names. More than a showcase of exceptional porcelain and whisky, it was a celebration of culture, time, and the enduring appeal of objects crafted with purpose, skill, and artistry.
