Montblanc’s Latest Ferrari Writing Instrument Is Inspired By The Automaker’s Bespoke Programme
The passionate engineering of Ferrari and the elegant style of Montblanc are united by craftsmanship, design, and expression. The partnership continues with the Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Inedita Special Edition, a fountain pen inspired by Ferrari’s Tailor Made personalisation programme. Inedita is one of its most distinctive reference collections that act as a starting point for customisation, focused on innovative, high-tech, sartorial materials. Carbon fibre, the de facto high-performance automotive material, is the base of this writing instrument, its textured finish contrasted by PVD-coated fittings. The iconic Prancing Horse logo is found on the barrel as a filigree aluminium sticker. The Montblanc emblem on the cap top is rendered in Azzuro Dino, a blue named for Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari’s son, Dino. The handcrafted solid gold, ruthenium-coated nib features the Montblanc emblem in a cross-hatched circle, celebrating this ongoing collaboration.
MB&F’s Original Legacy Machine Is Back As The LM1 Evo
Fifteen years ago, MB&F launched the Legacy Machine No. 1, or LM1, allowing the then-young independent to tread on a new, parallel path—classical sensibilities expressed through avant-garde concept and design. It won the brand its first GPHG award in 2012. Now, the LM1 is back, refined by a decade-and-a-half of experience and evolution. The new LM1 Evo is smaller, with a 42mm case diameter (compared to the original’s 44mm) and sports an interchangeable strap, shock protection system, and 80m water resistance rating—giving it an everyday wearability in line with the contemporary Evo collection. The movement has an upgraded power reserve of 60 hours, and the vertical power indicator has been replaced by an inclined dial. It does, of course, retain the heart of the LM1—including the oversized, 14mm balance wheel suspended at the centre of the dial by a dramatic, architectural, V-shaped bridge, and the two time dials with hours and minutes set completely independently. The LM1 Evo is available in two versions: one with a titanium case and rhodium dial plate, and a 33-piece limited edition of rose gold with a green dial plate.
