Lapping in Lappland
Porsche has done it. Ferrari has done it. So have Aston Martin and Lamborghini. So it’s about time that McLaren threw its hat into the ring and crafted a winter driving experience. Featuring the new McLaren 570S, the Pure McLaren Arctic Experience takes enthusiasts to the frozen wilderness of Ivalo, Finland for three days of fast-paced fun in the limited winter sun.
With dates available from 15 January to 3 February 2017, drivers will be accompanied by a McLaren Ice Driving Specialist while tackling the challenge of driving through several different kinds of snow- and ice-covered tracks, including three lakes and almost 100k of permanently-frozen trails and roads. In the end, the reward will be the realisation of just how powerful, agile and tactile a McLaren can be.
Accommodation is at the Jávri Lodge, the former residence of the President of Finland, where tales will be shared of wintry wipe-outs by the fireplace. Not all of the activities involve driving; a snowmobile safari is part of the itinerary, taking you through the untamed landscape of Saariselkä with your own personal team of huskies.
The US$15,000 (RM61,800) base package for a couple including one non-driver consists of:
• 3 nights accommodation at Jávri Lodge on an all-inclusive basis, including access to the in-house swimming pool and saunas.
• 2 days driving on a variety of winter tracks (minimum 3.5 hours per day of driving). Each driver will be paired with another guest based on experience, and will share coaching from a professional McLaren Driver Coach.
• Snowmobile safari and husky expedition.
• All meals.
• Private airport transfers, and transfers from the hotel to the track/activities.
• 2 day hosted activity programme for non-driver, with various activities including the chance to receive demo laps in a McLaren 570S on the ice.
