A bash like no other with Pavilion Damansara Heights

Standing tall

On a Thursday evening, the modish space of RuYi & Lyn in Bangsar Shopping Centre was heaving with excitement. An estimated total of 400 guests of Pavilion Damansara Heights and Robb Report Malaysia readers converged in the space to become the first to witness the preview of the hotly anticipated Pavilion Damansara Heights, luxury residences which comprise serviced suites and private residences.

Built on six hectares of freehold commercial land, the integrated development of corporate towers, residences and a premium lifestyle mall will be connected to two MRT stations upon its targeted completion in 2020.

Those who showed up that evening were welcomed by a bevy of models who ushered them onto a paparazzi-populated red carpet. Inside the main room, guests were regaled by an ambience of contemporary and retro music. For food, the highlight included a giant 73kg bluefin tuna flown in fresh from Fukuoka, expertly sliced by masterful Japanese chefs into tender chunks of sashimi and paired with seasonal chilled sake.

Also on offer were freshly shucked oysters, Wagyu beef cheek and a host of other culinary highlights, including RuYi & Lyn’s signature sushi trio: a miniaturised triumvirate of nasi lemak, mango sticky rice and Hainanese chicken rice.

For libation, the talents of bartender Sam Kinugawa produced a slew of delicious cocktails from Moscow Mules and Old Fashioneds to gin with home-made tonic and a fruity saketini. Soon after, the Yamazaki 18 and Hibiki 21 was doled out to the appreciative guests, who savoured the beautiful notes and palate of these rare and extraordinary whiskies. A beautifully curated dessert bar included tempting Earl Grey tea cakes, a madeleine tree, gold macarons, cheeses and grapes as well as an assortment of delicious ice cream flavours such as smoked cognac, Asahi beer sorbet, rum and raisin and hoji cha.

Guests were also entertained by the graceful interpretations of dancer Cecilia Yong, accompanied by the virtuoso talents of violinist Dennis Lau. The night ended with a delicious rendition of cigars with Cohiba Magicos, Partagas Serie E No. 2 and Hoyo Anejados Hermosos No. 4 providing the perfect pairing to the whiskies.
