Twenty French restaurants from around the country will be celebrating Goût de France, or Good France in English, this 21 March, with many of the nation’s top restaurants participating in this celebration to haute cuisine.

For its 5th year, 5000 chefs over 5 continents across multiple days will focus on responsible cooking, highlighting its importance through education and best of all delicious food. France being at the forefront of global gastronomy, the country wants to emphasise the importance of taking a greener approach to dining by respecting the planet’s resources to spur greater global environmental action.

To kickstart the event, the ambassador of France cordially invited a members of the media and key individuals who have contributed to the growth of the rise of French cuisine and culinary products to Malaysia. There, guests were treated to an elegant 4-course dinner cooked by the embassy’s resident chef, featuring a delicious mix of French cheeses, duck, and even seafood. Renowned French purveyor of fine spirits Pernod Ricard Malaysia was also present to showcase a selection of champagne and wine for discerning guests.

Goût de France is an initiative by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and renowned culinary figure Alain Ducasse following UNESCO’s decision to put the gastronomic meal of France on its cultural heritage list.
