This Cigar Divan Offers Malaysian Connoisseurs Their Sanctuary

habits of the leisure class

Just like your choice of car or suit, cigars are a window from which to glimpse individual personalities. Like most pleasurable habits – cigar appreciation is best savoured as part of a multi-sensory package.

Tying all elements together is the cigar divan – a refuge for connoisseurs to relish the ultimate luxury – time itself. Until Havana Club opened its first divan in 1990, none existed in the public space for discerning individuals to share in their passions. Softly lit and decked in plush sofas, aficionados both new and seasoned will discover an intimate and comfortable space to toast their authentic Cubans.

As the largest cigar retailer in the country, Havana Club today houses one of the most extensive walk-in humidors in all of South-east Asia. From full-bodied Bolívar cigars packed with ligero, to the complex compositions of Hoyo de Monterrey and the perfect afternoon smoke in a Montecristo No. 3, both new and seasoned fans will find something to their fancy at the two Havana Club-branded cigar divans.

Apart from Arturo Fuente Opus X Limited Editions, H. Upmann Sir Winston Gran Reserva 2011 and Romeo y Julieta specialties (limited and rare boxes retail from RM8,000 to RM40,000), Havana Club divans feature well stocked bars. Expect 18 year-old bottles from Macallan, Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich, plus cognacs from Hennessy, Martell and Remy Martin, to enrich the flavours and scents of your chosen corona. Enthusiasts may also browse through a wide collection of cutters, lighters, humidors and other cigar related paraphernalia for sale.

Currently Havana Club operates two divans – at the Concorde Hotel with a curated selection of over 150 vintage and rare cigars, and in a secluded nook at the Eastin Hotel. For more enquiries, please call 03-6411 3133 or email mcthian@havana-club.com.my
