Take To The Seas

Quantum of the Seas really is a ship to marvel at: it carries 4,905 guests across 18 decks, housing everything from a Bionic Bar with robotic bartenders to a ‘North Star’ observation capsule capable of rising 92 metres over the ocean. It would take a dull traveller indeed to get bored, since the SeaPlex indoor activity space offers basketball, roller-skating, and bumper cars to play with, while there’s skydiving, surfing experiences, and shows at the hi-tech Two70 entertainment venue.

A six‐month season from November 2019 to April 2020 – the cruise line’s longest ever deployment in the region of a Quantum Class ship – will see Quantum of the Seas complete 34 sailings out from Singapore. Voyage itineraries range from a leisurely four-night cruise to Penang or Phuket, to an indulgent seven-night cruise to Bangkok (Laem Chabang) and Ho Chi Minh City, ensuring guests can make the most of the facilities on board. (To add to the list, there’s a rock-climbing wall, a FlowRider surf simulator, luxury shopping facilities including Bulgari and Cartier, and 18 individual restaurants – so it would be a shame not to experience them all.)

For those who wish to extend their stay, there are multiple pre- and post-cruise experiences to be enjoyed in Singapore. The legendary butlers of the newly renovated Raffles Hotel Singapore will be waiting to usher guests in, and adventurous gourmands can pay a visit to the Teppan Chef’s Table in Andaz Singapore for their inventive omakase sets. Travellers with a taste for wilder delights should head to Marquee – a nightclub with a 30m-tall Ferris wheel and a three-storey slide – before they sink into Capella Singapore’s five-star Auriga Spa the following morning.
