The latest collaboration between apparel brand Paul Smith and German artist, author and visual storyteller Christoph Niemann centres around three themes – travel, art and creativity. This crossover collection was born out of the two men’s shared passion for design, as the both of them prominently employ a signature good-humoured style balanced by a relatable vision that’s very much rooted in the real world.
The 26-piece collection bears all the hallmarks of both designers, marrying quirky illustrations by Niemann on modern life with Smith’s relaxed and impressionable casual wear. These exclusive designs will grace a large number of Paul Smith apparel and accessories, ranging graphic prints on T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies to scarves, canvas bags and leather cardholder wallets.

Instances we’ve come to take for granted in our daily life are honoured in these prints, such as the illustration of an airport security line up and phones hooked up to wall chargers which playfully riffs on reality. Another eye-catching design is the ‘hello, goodbye’ print which appears on quite a number of items across various colours, two words which remind us of the fluidity of contemporary life.
