Love makes scents
Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun’s portrait of Marie Antoinette holding a rose – and the latter’s love for the flower – is now transposed into Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s À la rose Extrait (RM5,405). Following on from the parfum, the extrait is composed of no fewer than four thousand roses from Grasse and Bulgaria, as well as Florentine iris absolute and a hint of eastern red cedar in the background. The vessel for such an incredibly precious olfactory experience is a 70ml bottle, hand-engraved in gold and adorned with silk thread.
