Since 1895, Berluti has constructed a unique style for the classic yet bold gentleman. The French fashion house—also a family business—has kept the brand’s essence alive every season with specially curated leather bags, shoes, jackets and small leather goods, not forgetting the acclaimed shiny patinas in their repertoire.
In 2005, Berluti began their journey in fine leather goods, going beyond shoemaking to unveil a whole new collection of high-quality bags, which we know today as the Toujours tote. A little bit of background: the Toujours tote was created by Olga Berluti in 2013 and it quickly became an essential accessory in the menswear community. It also became Berluti’s most exclusive collection. The success then birthed a new line of three bags—the Toujours Soft Line—a spin-off from the Spring 2024 collection that consists of the Hobo Bag, Zipped Bag and Satchel.
These three bags are tailored with a vintage aesthetic and are fit for everyday use. The brand’s essence is recognisable in every aspect— the leaf-shaped zippers, discreet front side pocket, and the signature Scritto motif. The Toujours Soft Line also mirrors the original tote from the main collection, using Venezia leather for a more relaxed vibe.
The Hobo Bag steals the spotlight in this collection with its spacious interior. Commonly known as a messenger bag or a carryall, the lining is designed with an off-white fabric, to make searching for your items a breeze. It’s armed with a wide but adjustable strap that stays comfortably on your shoulders and is ideal for a day-to-night.
The Zipped Bag has a rather unique design, with zippers that open around the top. Think of a camera bag but with ample space. It’s perfect as a weekender or even a carry-on bag when you’re travelling. The removable buckle strap comes in handy for when you need it as a formal bag.
The Satchel Bag stands out in the Toujours Soft Line collection, thanks to the Scritto motif, which can be customised with the colour of your choice. It is also a reflection of the original Premier Jour from the main collection, as it can be transitioned to a tote or a backpack with removable straps. It has a padded interior for your laptop too.
Berluti finished the collection by featuring the new seasonal and mostly stunning Ice Gold patina on the bags. The finish is achieved through the artisanal Sfumatura technique that reveals a radiant gold, blended with a deep brown hue, allowing the bags to stand out from the main Spring 2024 collection.
