In our weekly TWIL series, we bring you the latest in luxury news from around the world. This week’s highlights: the new Range Rover Electric remains true to its luxury SUV identity, a highly limited Mini Cooper S arrives in Malaysia, and IWC Schaffhausen unveils a striking limited-edition chronograph to celebrate the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Iconic Range Rover Is Now Electric

It’s a new era for the world’s most famous luxury SUV, but Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) promises that its new Electric is a Range Rover first, and an EV second. It leverages two electric motors to provide silent performance, smoothness, and efficiency, yet with an output that competes with a V8 engine: 542bhp, 850Nm of torque, and a 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds. It is packed with technology, and has over 300 patent applications involved, the most ever for a Range Rover, with innovations including a traction management system that boasts being up to 100 times faster than an ICE equivalent, and a sophisticated heat management system for its powertrain, helping to optimise range, charging speeds, and longevity. JLR’s new battery testing laboratory has subjected the battery to extensive vibration and shock testing at temperatures from 40°C to +90°C, while the Range Rover Electric itself has been subject to extensive real-world testing—over 1.5 million kilometres’ worth, including in the subzero climes of Sweden and the desert heat of Dubai. Its 800V architecture accepts fast charging of up to 350kW, which takes it from 10 to 80 per cent in about 22 minutes, and the stated real-world range is up to 535km.

The team’s signature green shade marks its numerals and indices, paired with a purple rubber strap that can be easily swapped out with an interchangeable strap system. Parmigiani Fleurier Blends Milano Blue With Rose Gold In Its Latest Limited-Edition Skeletonised Tonda PF

The Swiss watchmaker recently unveiled a new limited-edition Tonda PF Skeleton, pairing its Milano Blue skeletonised dial and movement—previously offered only in platinum—with a rose gold case and bracelet. The result is a watch that retains the elegant proportions of the Tonda PF collection, measuring 40mm in diameter and just 8.5mm thick. At its heart is the in-house PF777 calibre, an automatic movement conceived from the outset as a skeletonised design rather than a conventional movement later stripped back. This approach allows Parmigiani Fleurier to balance visual transparency with everyday practicality, avoiding many of the legibility issues common to skeleton watches. The movement combines polished, satin-finished and sandblasted surfaces, creating a contemporary aesthetic that showcases the house’s signature mechanical complexity.

Limited to just 30 pieces, the Tonda PF Skeleton Rose Gold in Milano Blue is priced at US$117,100, in line with previous rose gold editions of the model.

Penfolds Toasts The Mid-Autumn Festival With The Launch Of Its First-Ever Gift Set For The Season

Penfolds has made its Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz and Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon the stars of its inaugural limited-edition Mid-Autumn gift set. Dressed in striking red-and-gold packaging, it’s a unique, eye-catching offering for the season’s festivities. The Mid-Autumn gift pack was unveiled over an exclusive dinner at Michelin-selected Bōl, where Chef Kian Liew carefully built a curated menu around the wines. Surprisingly, sauces crafted on classic Chinese staples like hawthorn and taucheou took centre stage, lending an unexpected yet delightful harmony with these reds.

Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz, first crafted in 1960 by the legendary Max Schubert, earned the nickname “Baby Grange” for maturing in barrels that previously held Grange itself, and remains a showcase of Penfolds’ judicious balance of fruit and oak. Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, launched with the 1990 vintage in 1993 and inspired by Bin 707, offers textbook varietal definition with the structure and depth that come from Penfolds’ multi-regional blending philosophy.

The New Dyson Toothbrush Cleans With A Camera

At an event earlier this month, technology company Dyson unveiled a slew of new high-tech products, but none more eyebrow-raising than the CameraJet. This is actually a toothbrush, believe it or not—an all-singing, all-dancing one which brushes, has targeted liquid flossing, mouthwash dispensing, and an integrated camera. The latter enables a machine learning system to identify the gaps between teeth in real time and ‘trigger a precision burst of mouthrinse exactly where it is needed.’ Each system also innovates on existing solutions—the liquid flossing jet is conical to remove more plaque while remaining gentle on gums and teeth, and the dual-bristle brush head is designed to cover more surface area and has a variable sonic oscillation to prevent bristle stalling. As incredible as all this sounds, one does need to keep in mind that Dyson has revolutionised vacuum cleaners, fans, and hair dryers, amongst other things—why not dental care as well?
