On a lovely Saturday morning, the golf-inclined members of the Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia took to the beautiful greens of The Els Club Desaru Coast’s Ocean Course for their annual golf challenge, supported by Naza Italia – the official dealer of Ferrari in Malaysia. Designed by its namesake, the four-time major champion Ernie Els, this course offers large rolling greens and the variability of breeze streaming in from the adjacent South China Sea.
The eight flights teed off nice and early, with additional interest provided by PXG Golf and its official distributor MST Golf. Midway through, golfers could avail themselves to a free hit with a PXG club to showcase the forgiving nature of the brand’s equipment, helped on with additional insights by South African golf pro Bertus-Pieter Viljoen. Also adding excitement to the tournament play was The Hour Glass, official retailers of Hublot – the official watch of Scuderia Ferrari and Ferrari’s Official Timekeeper. On stake was a Hublot Classic Fusion 42mm in titanium, as a Hole-in-One draw.

At the prize-giving dinner, members enjoyed a feast put together by the food and beverage team of The Westin Desaru Coast, enjoying a host of local and international specialities including Hainanese chicken rice, and Laksa Johor. Capping off the evening was Glen Grant – one of the world’s top five bestselling single malt Scotches. A delicious array of pours included the 12 Year Old which serves up notes of apple pie and caramel, as well as the 18 Year Old, rich and complex with raisins and vanilla.
